Cancer Information-seeking in an Age of COVID-19
Findings from the National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Information Service
Last Fall, the US National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Information Service published a descriptive analysis on the difference in cancer information seeking among cancer survivors, caregivers, tobacco users and members of the general public during the onset and early part of the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, this analysis looked at data collected from February 2020 through September 2020. Insights from this analysis show how cancer information services can serve as an example of how to deliver, prioritize, and tailor messaging and responses by audience during public health emergencies.
